What is a Little Free Library ®?
It is a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where Neighbors, Friends, Family, or Patients can share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library® is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book and bring back another book to share.
To our knowledge, Parkview Pediatric Dentistry is the First and Only pediatric dental office to have a Little Free Library. This is just another way that Parkview hopes to positively impact the lives of all the families and children we serve. We believe that reading is the cornerstone to development. Because of this, we want to make books available to all children who want them. We cannot reach as many children as we would like without your help. We would like to share all of the great childhood books that we can. I know that my favorite book as a small child was Pat the Bunny, and as I got older I loved Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends book of poems. In fact I can still quote many of the fun poems that he wrote. I know that books I read or had read to me as a child really made a difference in my life.
How awesome would it be if we gave new life to the old children’s books that might be lying around your house? Think of all the new lives that they could touch. I think it would even be really nice to write a note in the book. You never know how many hands that book could pass through.
If you have books that you would like to donate for the Parkview Pediatric Dentistry Little Free Library® please feel free to stop by anytime at:
7515 Quaker Avenue #100, Lubbock, TX 79424.
Thank you all for helping us positively impact the lives of the children of Lubbock! Please share this post with all your friends so that we can maximize our success.
